Get Started

Take the first step by calling us to schedule your free initial consultation. You can choose whether to have your consultation in our office or over the telephone based on your preference and convenience. The purpose of the initial consultation is to assess your legal needs and to answer your questions.

After we determine that our firm can meet your legal needs, and you choose our firm to represent you, we will ask you to follow the link below to our divorce questionnaire. The information you provide in the questionnaire will be used by your attorney to prepare your divorce documents. After you fill out the questionnaire you will be able to save the completed form on your computer before you submit the form. This portion of the process will be the most time consuming for you, but you will be able to complete the form in your home at your own pace. We will be happy to help you and answer your questions as you fill out the form.

After you submit your divorce questionnaire, your attorney will draft all of the necessary court documents for your divorce. More questions may arise at this point, and your attorney may contact you to discuss these issues. Once the court documents are complete, your attorney will send them to you for you to review them. You will have the opportunity to make revisions and ask more questions.

After you approve and sign the documents, we will file the documents with the court. If you have no children, the court will usually sign your divorce decree without a hearing. Some judges may require a hearing before signing the divorce decree. If a hearing is required, your attorney will attend the hearing with you. If you have children, you will be required to take Kentucky’s Families in Transitions Program before your divorce decree will be signed.
